Using host response, Predigen has developed HR-PreV™, a test that offers pre-symptomatic detection of viral acute respiratory illness (ARI). Host response to viral ARI is identifiable 1-2 days before typical symptoms occur, allowing for earlier decisions regarding disposition of at-risk subjects undergoing screening. With a pre-symptomatic approach, infected patients can be identified earlier, and quarantined patients can be exonerated earlier.

The studies performed to develop this pan-viral test for early detection included subjects with coronavirus, the family of viruses that includes SARS-CoV-2, which causes the COVID-19 disease. Importantly, COVID-19 is only one of many pandemics, past and future. Predigen’s pre-symptomatic test for viral ARI will enable more robust responses to inevitable future pandemics.
